Ledra — Nicosia

Having spent most of my life inside the walls of Nicosia, my love for this city goes beyond interest to something necessary.

There are many layers of history inside the narrow streets and abandoned buildings, the same goes for the people inhabiting said streets. Diverse cultures and different ways of living life always kept fascinated and engaged. This project never started intentionally but rather became apparent through the years.

I use film and digital, in black and white to cut through the noise and enhance emotion.

Throughout this journey I realised that I wasn't picking up the camera to capture something specific rather what it made me feel.

Small soft human moments or a reflection of our times in all aspects inside the vast and diverse history of Ledra.
